Karl-Heinz Jähn
Karl-Heinz Jähn (born March 20, 1932 in Gumbinnen / East Prussia ) is a German translator .
Life
After a study of Slavic Studies at Berlin's Humboldt University , graduating with a diploma, Karl-Heinz Jähn as was publishing editor operates. Since the 1960s he has translated numerous works from Czech , Slovak and Russian into German . Jähn lives in Berlin .
Karl-Heinz Jähn is a member of the PEN Center Germany and the Association of German-Language Translators of Literary and Scientific Works . For his translation work he received a. a. The Czech Vítězslav Nezval Prize in 1984 , the L'udmila Podjavorinská plaque in 1991 and the Paul Celan Prize in 1997 .
