Karl Christoph von Zeuner (* 1703 in Stettin (also: Landskrona ), † January 19, 1768 in Berlin ) was a Prussian major general and governor of Kossen and Züllichau .

Life

His ancestor Michael Zeuner was raised to the nobility on May 15, 1613 by Emperor Matthias . Karl Christoph was a son of the Swedish lieutenant colonel Friedrich von Zeuner and his wife Christine Elisabeth, born von Sperling († 1721) from the Bremen monastery. His brother Johann Bernhard fell from thrush .

Military career

In 1718 Zeuner joined the “Margrave Albrecht” infantry regiment of the Prussian Army and advanced to the position of Prime Lieutenant . In 1740 he was transferred to the "von Glasenapp" infantry regiment as captain . With this association he took part in the battle of Mollwitz during the First Silesian War . In the Second Silesian War , Zeuner was wounded in the Battle of Hohenfriedberg and was awarded the Pour le Mérite order for his bravery . By 1758 he was promoted to colonel .

During the Seven Years' War Zeuner fought in 1756/63 in the battles near Prague , Roßbach , Liegnitz and Reichenbach as well as the sieges of Brieg, Neisse, Prague and Dresden. In the meantime, King Friedrich II had promoted him to major general in February 1760 and appointed him chief of the von Lattorff infantry regiment.

He died unmarried in Berlin in 1768.
