Karl Friedrich von Langen
Kaspar Rudolf Karl Friedrich von Langen (* 1737 in Guben ; † September 14, 1801 in Danzig ) was a Prussian major general and chief of Infantry Regiment No. 17 .
Life
origin
His parents were the electoral Saxon Lieutenant General Gottlob Erdmann von Langen (born October 24, 1708) and his wife Johanna Christiane Waller Dorff.
Military career
Langen was first a Saxon cadet in 1751 and an ensign in the Queen's regiment on January 24, 1754 . On October 18, 1756 he came as a second lieutenant in the infantry regiment “Moritz Anhalt-Dessau” No. 22 . During the remainder of the Seven Years' War he fought in the battles of Kolin (wounded), Zorndorf and Torgau , in the sieges of Prague , Wittenberg and Dresden and in the battles of Strehlen, Berlin and Leutmannsdorf.
He became Premier Lieutenant on October 22, 1757 , captain of staff on April 4, 1762 and captain and company commander on May 23, 1763 . Langen took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession in 1778 and became major on October 18, 1780 . On June 24, 1788 he was finally appointed commander of the 22nd Infantry Regiment and promoted to lieutenant colonel on May 30 the following year. He also received the order Pour le Mérite on June 4, 1789 at Revue in Stargard . On May 24, 1791 he became a colonel . In 1794 he took part in the campaign in Poland and fought there near Warsaw and the Rawka. On July 6, 1795 he was appointed chief of Infantry Regiment No. 17 and on January 1, 1796 major general.

Langen married on October 22, 1765 in Stargard Marianne Elisabeth Opterbeck (* August 19, 1737 - March 31, 1819), divorced from Kaspar Otto von Wedel (1735–1798). The couple had the following children:
