Karl Gottfried Ferdinand von Busch (* July 1733 in Sulau ( Militsch district ), † April 29, 1803 in Insterburg ) was a Prussian lieutenant general and chief of the 8th Dragoon Regiment .

Life

Military career

Busch visited the cadet house in Berlin from July 1, 1748 . On June 20, 1753 he was employed as a private corporal in the "von Langermann" dragoon regiment of the Prussian army and on May 3, 1755 ensign . In the Seven Years' War he took part in the battles of Groß-Jägersdorf , Zorndorf , Kunersdorf , Landeshut , Reichenbach and the battles at Anklam and Demmin . In the time he was on 15 February 1757 second lieutenant , and on July 1, 1760 First Lieutenant .

Busch was given a company as captain in September 1777 and rose to major a year later . Shortly afterwards he took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession . On June 12, 1787 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel and from September 24, 1788 he was commander of the "von Brause" dragoon regiment. On June 7, 1789 he received the order Pour le Mérite and on June 10, 1789 promotion to colonel . On January 11, 1794 he was appointed major general . Then on January 31, 1795 he became chief of the "von Frankenberg" dragoon regiment . On May 20, 1800 he was promoted to Lieutenant General with a patent from May 25, 1800. On April 26, 1801, Busch was given the position of chief of his old regiment, the “von Bardeleben” dragoon regiment. He died on April 29, 1803 in Insterburg and was buried on May 4, 1803 in the garrison cemetery there.

From the relationship with Anna Katharina Wenckerin, the son Johann Gottlieb (born July 17, 1768 in Insterburg; † November 4, 1830) emerged, who was last as a major in Hussar Regiment No. 5 . He had been legitimized on November 26, 1784.

With Anna Regina Schönfeld Busch had the son Johann Karl (born January 14, 1770 in Insterburg) and the daughter Maria Magdalena (born September 9, 1782 in Insterburg; † February 21, 1799), who in 1798 got together with Charles Louis von Froideville, lieutenant married in Dragoon Regiment No. 10. He was the son of Franz Isaak von Froideville .
