Since not a few tried, but the positions were limited, he was rejected for the time being. In a letter dated 14 September 1917, the then stepped kuk - governor's office , Department of Agriculture Krakow for him. At that time Korschann was first lieutenant in the Krakow fortress command. In a personal letter to Colonel in the General Staff Wilhelm Eisner-Bubna , the artist described his motivation for joining the art group on September 28, 1917. He had been commissioned to carry out the middle group of a large cemetery memorial "in gratitude from the army for the fallen soldiers" in Krakow. In addition, he should take over the war graves department of the Krakow Fortress. Since the Kraków fortress was about to be dissolved, he feared he would be transferred to the war graves department of the military command and was therefore worried about his commission for the memorial.

After the war, in 1919, he settled permanently in his hometown Brno, especially since there he was given the post of lecturer at the German Technical University .
