Karl Matthias von Lepel

Karl Matthias von Lepel (* December 24, 1704 ; † 1766 ) was a Prussian major .

Life

origin

Karl Matthias was a member of the Pomeranian noble family von Lepel . His parents were the Pomeranian district administrator and heir to Netzelkow and Lütow Caspar Mathias von Lepel (1660–1723) and Eleonore Agnes von Klinckowström from the Engelswarth house (1680–1720).

Career

Lepel took over as adjutant and commander of an infantry battalion , which in 1744 made up of two companies of the regiments no. 7 and no. 30 or 1744-1745 "Jung-Bornstedt" and "Alt-Woldeck" was composed, the second Silesian War part . In 1746 he was awarded the Pour le Mérite order . He received his departure in 1747.

From his father's inheritance he was the lord of Netzelkow and from 1727 also owned Görmitz . In 1744 he also acquired the remaining shares in Gut Neuendorf and Lütow from brother Carl Albrecht. All goods on the Gnitz were sold together in 1753 in the family, in this case Joachim Friedrich (1712–1784).

In the last year of his life he was under guardianship (trustee) because of mental confusion .

Lepel's first marriage was in 1747 (divorced before 1754) with Sophie Dorothea von Kleist (1728–1811). He had entered into a second marriage with Eva Sophie von Ramin . The son Johann Friedrich von Lepel emerged from his first marriage, who had also served as an officer in the Prussian army.
