Karl Ruggaber

Karl Ruggaber (born April 12, 1887 in Habsthal , † January 23, 1936 in Stuttgart ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

After attending primary school, Ruggaber completed an apprenticeship as a locksmith. He worked as a locksmith in the Schussental and was also involved in the union . From 1907 to 1911 he was a board member of the Württemberg metal workers' association and from 1909 to 1911 chairman of the trade union cartel in Ravensburg . From 1910 he worked full-time as party secretary for the Stuttgart state secretariat of the SPD, from 1912 to 1927 in Ulm and from 1927 to 1933 in Schwenningen am Neckar . In addition, he was district chairman Württemberg of the Reich Banner Black-Red-Gold . From 1914 to 1918 he took part in the First World War, first as a soldier at the front , then as a conscript in the armaments industry .

During the November Revolution , Ruggaber was elected chairman of the workers 'and soldiers' council for Ravensburg- Weingarten . From 1919 to 1920 he was a member of the Constituent Assembly of the Free People's State of Württemberg . In 1920 he was elected to the Württemberg state parliament, to which he belonged without interruption until 1933, initially as a member of the Oberland, and from 1929 for Schwenningen / Rottweil. Furthermore, he ran for the Weimar National Assembly in January 1919 and for the Reichstag in June 1920 , but won no mandate in the elections.

After the takeover of the Nazis Ruggaber was in March 1933 in " protective custody taken" and until October 1933 KZ Heuberg interned. In 1936 he died of the consequences of imprisonment.
