Karl Siegmund von Hainsky

Karl Siegmund von Hainsky (* 1738 in Plassow ( Stolp district ), † August 2, 1811 in Hohendorf in West Prussia ( Stuhm district )) was a royal Prussian major general and most recently the commander of the 9th Dragoon Regiment .

He came to Berlin as a cadet on July 23, 1753 , and on June 9, 1756 he was transferred to the Dragoon Regiment No. 9 as an ensign . During the Seven Years' War he fought in the battles near Groß-Jägersdorf , Krefeld , Bergen , Liegnitz , Freiberg as well as in the battle near Tannhausen and the sieges of Dresden and Kolberg. He was wounded in Krefeld and briefly in Russian captivity in 1760. On May 17, 1757 he became second lieutenant.

After the war he became Premier-Lieutenant on January 4, 1764 and on April 3, 1775 Captain of the Staff. He took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession . On September 7, 1787 he received the Pour le Mérite in recognition of his good performance in the Remontekommission. On September 10, 1787 received 100 thalers and was promoted to major on November 2, 1788 . He took part in the campaign in Poland in 1794 , where he distinguished himself during the siege of Warsaw. On February 3, 1795 he was appointed commander of the 9th Dragoon Regiment. On May 26, 1798 he became a lieutenant colonel and on May 26, 1799, he became a colonel . On December 15, 1801 he was to become chief of the newly established Dragoon Regiment No. 13 . On January 4, 1802, he received permission not to accept this position because of his age and instead to remain in command of the 9th Dragoon Regiment. Almost two years later, on December 8, 1803, he received his resignation , 800 thalers pension and the character of a major general. He died on August 2, 1811 in Hohendorf in West Prussia (Stuhm district).

He married on August 7, 1792 in Pelonten with Oliva Luise von Zitzewitz (* October 6, 1762, † September 10, 1829) from the house of Dumröse , widow of Joachim Reinhold von Zitzewitz (1723–1789), Colonel a. D., Commander of Dragoon Regiment No. 9.

In 1812 the widow adopted Rittmeister Louis von Erichsen und Trolle , who received permission to call himself Erichsen von Zitzewitz .
