Karl Joseph Theodor Ludwig Franz Ignaz Vincenz von Büllinger (born October 4, 1768 at Haus Raedt, Tönisvorst ; † December 24, 1832 in Passau ) was a royal Bavarian officer, most recently in the rank of major general . From 1806 he was a knight of the Military Max Joseph Order .

Karl von Büllinger came from the Rhineland von Büllingen family, who had provided numerous senators for the city of Cologne for a long time . Karl's grandfather Franz Ignaz von Büllingen (* 1693; † 1748) was a privy councilor and councilor of the Electoral Palatinate as well as a fiefdom director of Jülich-Berg . Military background

On April 18, 1784, Büllinger joined the "Campana" infantry regiment as a cadet and was promoted to ensign there on December 18, 1785 . After he had acquired a second lieutenant in the 4th Grenadier Regiment "Baden" on September 13, 1790 , he was transferred to the 7th Fusilier Regiment "Zedtwitz" in the same position on June 14, 1792. On January 23, 1793, Büllinger bought a first lieutenant in the 4th Fusilier Regiment "Delamotte", but was transferred as such to the Leib Regiment on July 24, 1799 and promoted to staff captain on August 31, 1800 in this unit .

Büllinger, who took part in all campaigns of the first and second coalition war against France from 1793 to 1800 and was badly wounded by a bayonet stab in the battle near Lorch am Rhein in 1795, received the Electoral Palatinate-Bavarian military by cabinet order of June 13, 1801. On October 23, 1805 Büllinger was promoted to captain in the 1st Infantry Body Regiment, where he received a company. With this unit he took part in the campaign against Austria in the same year . Marriage and offspring

Karl von Büllinger married Therese Freiin von der Rhoer († 1833) in 1803. They had three children, two daughters and a son. From his marriage to Berta Maria Filitia Freiin von Eerde in 1864, he left behind the son Karl Florentin Felix von Büllingen (* 1865). He was Lord of Wolfskuhlen (Wolfskuhlen Castle), Honorary Mayor of Budberg and Knight of the Order of Malta . On October 10, 1892 in Potsdam , Karl Florentin Felix received a Prussian name and coat of arms as von Büllingen-Wevelinghoven.
