Heinrich Ferdinand Karl von Toll (born March 25, 1801 in Herford , † June 7, 1869 in Görlitz ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

Heinrich Ferdinand Karl was a member of the Baltic noble family Toll . His parents were Lieutenant General Ludwig Ernst Philipp von Toll (1775-1851) and his first wife Christiane Marie Sophie, née Liebrecht (1770-1805).

Career

Toll joined the 33rd Infantry Regiment of the Prussian Army as a musketeer on May 1, 1818, and was promoted to Second Lieutenant on November 21, 1819 . From 1824 to 1835 he was used as a battalion adjutant. On May 16, 1835 he was promoted to Prime Lieutenant and from that point on he served as a regimental adjutant . On November 25, 1840 he became a captain and company commander . With his promotion to major on June 13, 1848, he was transferred to the 22nd Infantry Regiment . From there Toll came on February 20, 1849 as commander of the 1st battalion in the 10th Landwehr Regiment. He rose to lieutenant colonel on March 22, 1853 , before being transferred to the Glatz fortress as commandant on May 4, 1854 . In this position he was placed on July 6, 1854 à la suite of the 10th Infantry Regiment . On October 15, 1856 he was promoted to colonel and on May 7, 1857 appointed commander of the 6th Infantry Regiment . On May 31, 1859 he was promoted to major general and on October 13, 1859 appointed commander of the 26th Infantry Brigade . On 25 May 1860 he was awarded the Red Eagle II. Class with oak leaves and received on October 14, 1862 his farewell as a lieutenant general with board . He died on June 7, 1869 in Görlitz.

Toll married Henriette Schwucht von Zinken (* 1818 - 20 May 1853) in Graudenz on October 27, 1835. The couple had several children:
