history

Archaeological finds prove an early settlement of the area. Burial mounds with Lusatian ceramics, urn graves with amphorae, and bronze fibulae and bracelets were found in the Kosteletz forest.

In the Middle Ages, the village of Krnůvky was located on the plateau between Beňov , Líšná and Kostelec u Holešova . It was first mentioned in a document in 1447 when Johann von Cimburg sold the village and farm to Mešek von Kostelec. How Krnůvky became extinct is not known, it was first described as desolate in 1547.

In 1650 Johann von Rottal acquired the dominions of Bistritz and Holleschau and united them into one great dominion. After the von Rottal family died out, the inheritance fell to Franz Anton von Rottal's son-in-law Franz Maximilian Nádasdy in 1762 , who sold the rule to Count Erdődy .

In 1780, Countess Maria Barbara Erdődy had a new village built north of Kosteletz, which she named after her son Karl Vincenc. She recruited the first 20 settlers in Holešov. The village originally consisted of 20 chalets and Martin Hlavizňa was appointed the first bailiff. Between 1800 and 1825 the village was enlarged to 53 houses by dividing the land. Until the middle of the 19th century, the place was always subject to Holešov.

After the abolition of patrimonial Karlowice / Karlowitz formed from 1850 a municipality in the district authority Holleschau. In 1858 the Erdődy counts sold their goods in Holešov with all their accessories to the von Würben counts . In 1961 Karlovice was added to the Okres Kroměříž and at the same time incorporated into Kostelec u Holešova. In 1991 131 people lived in the village. In the 2001 census, the village consisted of 50 houses and had 139 inhabitants. Ethnographically the village belongs to Hanna .
