Karyna Alehauna Demidik ( Belarusian Карына Алегаўна Дэмідік * 10. February 1999 in Baranovichi as Karyna Alehauna Taranda Belarusian Карына Алегаўна Таранда ) is a Belarusian high jumper .

Athletic career

Karyna Demidik had her first international appearance at the 2016 European Youth Championships in the Georgian capital Tbilisi , where she was eliminated with 1.75 m in the qualification. The following year she took part in the U20 European Championships in Grosseto , where she won the silver medal behind the Czech Michaela Hrubá with 1.87 m . In 2018 she took part in the U20 World Championships in Tampere , Finland , where she won the gold medal in front of the Irish Sommer Lecky with a new Belarusian junior record of 1.92 m . She qualified for the European Championships in Berlin , where she took twelfth place with a skipped 1.87 m in the final, as well as at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow the following year. Then she reached fourth place at the U23 European Championships in Gävle with a skipped 1.92 m and finished sixth at the World Championships in Doha with 1.96 m in the final .

In 2017, 2018 and 2019 Demidik became the Belarusian outdoor champion and in 2018 and 2019 also indoor.
