Kastriot Imeri (born June 27, 2000 in Geneva ) is a Swiss football player of Kosovar descent who is under contract with the first division club Servette FC . The midfielder has been a Swiss U20 international since September 2019 .
Career
society
Born in Geneva , Kastriot Imeri is the son of Kosovar parents and began his football training in 2007 at FC Meyrin . In July 2013, he moved to the youth department of Servette FC , where he played for the U18 team for the first time in the 2015/16 season. In the 2016/17 season he was already a regular player there and played in 23 league games in which he scored three goals. For the last matchday (June 3, 2017) he was ordered into the first team, which played in the second-rate Challenge League , and was in the 80th minute of the game for Fabry in the 1-0 away win against FC Le Mont-sur-Lausanne Castro came on .
In the next 2017/18 season he rose to become a regular in midfield Servettes. On December 13, 2017, he signed a new contract until 2021. He scored his first goal on August 12, 2017 in a 6-0 cup win against FC Altdorf . In the league, he met for the first time on February 24, 2018 (22nd matchday) in a 4-0 home win against FC Aarau . During this season he completed 26 league games in which he scored one goal.
In the next 2018/19 season he dropped out of the starting line-up and was used as a substitute. In this role, however, he knew how to convince and therefore played almost every league game. He completed 29 league games in which he scored three times. With the Grenats he won the championship, which guaranteed the club promotion to the top Swiss league .
He was also mainly used as a joker in the Super League in the 2019/20 season . On February 23 (23rd matchday) he scored his first goal in the Super League with a penalty in a 2-2 draw against FC Basel .
National team
In May 2016, Kastriot Imeri played three friendly international matches for the Swiss U16 national team . From September 2016 to May 2017 he worked five times for the U17s . In October 2017 and May 2018 he completed a test match for the U18s . He then played in six U19 international matches between September 2018 and May 2019 , in which he scored one goal. He has been a Swiss U20 national player since September 2019 .
