Career
society
Alex Schalk comes from the youth of NAC Breda , where he made the leap into the professional squad in 2010. In Breda he got the nickname “Bomber von Breda” due to his goal instinct, based on the “bomber of the nation” Gerd Müller . On May 1, 2011, he made his debut for the professional team on the 33rd match day of the Eredivisie 2010/11 , when he came on in the game against Heracles Almelo in the 85th minute for Ömer Bayram . The game ended in a 2-1 home defeat. At the beginning of the new season, Schalk signed a new two-year contract until June 2013 on August 9th.
After he hardly saw any prospects for himself in Breda in 2014, he switched to PSV Eindhoven on loan in January . In Eindhoven, however, he only played for Jong PSV , the understudy from the Eerste Divisie . By the end of the season he had 16 league games in which he scored six goals. On June 28, 2014 he moved to the Go Ahead Eagles from Deventer on a free transfer , where he signed a one-year contract. In August 2015, he left the club after 22 games and four hits.
In October 2015 he moved to the Scottish Premiership for Ross County , where he scored 22 goals in 88 games. After three years in Scotland , Schalk moved to the Super League at Servette FC in Geneva . In his two seasons there so far, he made 13 goals in 41 games. He made headlines on one by showing the opposing fans the middle finger. As a result, he was suspended for two games.
National team
Schalk was in action for the Dutch U-20 and U-21 national team from 2011 to 2013 .
