Katarzyna Nowak (born January 13, 1969 in Łódź ) is a former Polish tennis player .
Career
Nowak became a professional player at the age of 19. She won three singles titles in the ITF Women's Circuit during her career and reached three finals in doubles. For the first time in the main draw of a WTA tournament stood at the Athens Open in 1989 , which she had reached through qualification. She lost in the first round to Julie Halard 3: 6 and 2: 6. Her best performance on the WTA Tour was the semi-finals in Barcelona in 1995 , which she lost to Iva Majoli 3: 6 and 1: 6.
For her country of birth, she took part in the 1992 Summer Olympics in singles in Barcelona . She lost in the first round to Julie Halard 4-6 and 6-7 1 .
Her last tournament participation she had in December 1998 in Průhonice , where she gave up in the first round against Karen Cross when the score was 1: 3.
Between 1988 and 1995 she played for the Polish Fed Cup team , for which she won ten of their 21 games.
Their home club was the MKT Łódź.
