Katharina Meinecke (born March 26, 1960 in Braunschweig , Lower Saxony ) is a German actress .

Life

Katharina Meinecke comes from a large theater-loving family and is a great-great-granddaughter of the poet Ludwig Ganghofer . As a child she began theater play. After graduating from high school in Baden-Baden , she studied acting at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart . From 1982 to 1984 she played at the Stadttheater in Ulm , later in Konstanz , in Basel and at the Modern Theater in Munich . In 1989 she appeared in Nico Hofmann's successful film Land der Fathers, Land der Sons as "Dorothea Kleinert" for the first time in front of the camera.

In 1996, Roland Suso Richter's film Sven's Secret , in which she played the leading role of the teacher Vera Loewe, was awarded the Erich Kästner TV Prize and in the TV Movie category at the Festival de Télévision in Banff ( Canada ) as best TV film.

In addition to her work for film and television, the actress dedicates herself to classical singing . In addition, she performs with literary readings - as a solo program or, more recently, in collaboration with the musician Johannes Geyer.

Katharina Meinecke has two children and lives with her family in Munich.
