Kathrin Bettina Dannenberg (born August 12, 1966 in Leisnig , Döbeln district , GDR ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ) and a member of the state parliament in Brandenburg . On January 26, 2019, Dannenberg was elected by her party as the top candidate for the Brandenburg state election in 2019 .

Life and work

After graduating from high school in 1985, Kathrin Dannenberg began studying at the “Karl Liebknecht” University of Education in Potsdam , which she graduated in 1990 as a graduate teacher for sport and history. From 1990 onwards she worked as a teacher in the Cottbus school district. From 1998 to 2000 she completed a further course of studies at the University of Potsdam for the subject of lifestyle, ethics and religion, and from 2004 to 2005 training to become a mentor and to implement a dispute arbitration concept in schools.

Kathrin Dannenberg lives in Calau , is married and has one child.

politics

She has been a member of the city council of Calau and the district council of the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district since 2014 . In the state elections in Brandenburg in 2014 , she entered the state parliament via the state list. Since September 4, 2019, she has been chairman of the parliamentary group of Die Linke in the state parliament together with Sebastian Walter .
