action
Privateer Henry Graham is presented with a fait accompli by his asset manager. His expensive lifestyle has gradually eroded his fortune, leaving him on the brink of bankruptcy. Henry sees only one way out: restructuring by marrying a solvent woman. He takes out a loan from his uncle Harry on very unfavorable terms in order to be able to maintain the certificate for the next few weeks. At a tea table he met the botanist Henrietta Lowell. She is the heiress of a huge fortune, single and very clumsy. Henry sensed his chance and successfully courted Henrietta. After the wedding he wants to get rid of his annoying wife, but he has now developed feelings for Henrietta and does not have the heart to murder her. In the end, Henrietta's great wish is fulfilled: Together they discover a plant that has not yet been described, the name of which will in future have the addition of "Grahami".
