On October 13, 2006, Bieksa scored his first NHL goal in the Canucks game against the San Jose Sharks , ultimately finishing the season as the team's highest-point defender. Due to a calf injury, the defender was only able to complete 34 appearances in the highest North American professional league in the following season .

After more than 600 NHL appearances in ten years with the Canucks, Bieksa was transferred to the Anaheim Ducks in June 2015 , which in return transferred a second-round vote for the 2016 NHL Entry Draft to Vancouver.
