License plate (Mauritius)

The license plate of Mauritius show usually white or silver-colored inscription on a black background. The date of first registration has been shown since 1996 . The signs begin with a sequential combination of numbers, followed by two letters that indicate the month of registration (e.g. FB for February). This is followed by two digits that indicate the year of registration (e.g. 02 for 2002). If it is a second-hand imported vehicle, the letter Z and two digits of the year of the first registration in the country of origin appear.
The nationality symbol is MS .
