Kill Hannah
Kill Hannah is an alternative rock band from Chicago , Illinois , signed to Roadrunner Records .
Band history
Kill Hannah was founded in 1995 by singer and songwriter Mat Devine. Between 1996 and 2003, Kill Hannah released eight LPs, singles and EPs (without a record company).
The band owes its name to the ex-girlfriend of the singer Mat Devine. They met at Illinois State University in Illinois. During this time Mat was a member of a band called "In a Jar UK" (he sang and played guitar). After separating from Hannah, Mat had stickers with the words "Kill Hannah" printed to stick them on the plates of "In a Jar UK" - 7 " .
Kill Hannah made her Atlantic Records debut For Never and Ever in Los Angeles in the winter of 2003 with producer Sean Beavan ( No Doubt , Marilyn Manson , Nine Inch Nails ) and sound engineer Tim Palmer ( U2 , The Cure , Tears for Fears , HIM ) on. The album consists mostly of older songs by the band that have been re-recorded and those that they had previously played live. The song "Kennedy" was played on US radio many times, and the band made a music video for the song "Unwanted".
In 2003 and 2004, Kill Hannah was with Chevelle , HIM , The Sounds , Evanescence , Jane's Addiction , Everclear , Eve 6 , The All-American Rejects , Fuel , POD , The Distillers , Story of the Year , Three Days Grace , Alien Ant Farm , The Buzzcocks , Andrew WK , Trapt , The Rasmus and many others on tour (each with only one band). The single "Kennedy" rose to # 2 on "modern rock radio", Kill Hannah also played the song on the television show "Last Call With Carson Daly," and the song has appeared in other TV productions.
In late 2002, Kill Hannah signed their contract with Atlantic Records. In June 2006, Kill Hannah supported the Mindless Self Indulgence tour . In the same year they released the album Until There's Nothing Left Of Us .
In early 2008, Kill Hannah supported Aiden on the World By Storm Tour and played at Rock am Ring and Rock im Park on the Alternastage in June .
In autumn 2008 they came back to Germany and were supported by "My Passion" as the opening act.
