Kip Niven

Kip Niven (born May 27, 1945 as Clifford W. Niven in Kansas City , Missouri ; † May 6, 2019 there ) was an American actor .

Life

Niven grew up in the suburbs of Kansas City and attended the University of Kansas . He began his acting career in 1971 with guest roles on television series such as Owen Marshall and Emergency Call California . In 1973 he got a supporting role in Dirty Harry II - Calahan . He subsequently played in the disaster films Earthquake , Airport '75 - Giants in the Sky and Die Hindenburg, among others . Towards the end of the 1970s, Niven began to work increasingly for television again. He first played a recurring role as Pastor Tom Marshall in the series The Waltons between 1979 and 1981 . Guest roles followed in series such as Simon & Simon , TJ Hooker and Knight Rider . Between 1981 and 1985 he had a recurring role in the series Imbiß mit Bß . During the filming, he met the leading actress Linda Lavin , with whom he was married from 1982 to 1991.

Niven also played theater roles , both in regional theaters and on Broadway , including in the 1988 musical Chess by Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson . From the 1990s onwards, Niven was mostly in front of the camera for lesser-known B-movies and independent productions. Niven died in May 2019 at the age of 73, he was third married and had three children.
