Capuchin Church (Türkheim)

In 1684–87, under the supervision of the master builder P. Hyacinth from Munich, the Capuchin church and monastery was built south of the Loreto Chapel. In the second half of the 19th century it received a neo-Gothic interior with Nazarenes and Romanesque paintings. In 1948 the interior of the church was modernized. In 1973 the monastery was closed and in 1999 it was converted into a care ward.

On the high altar of the Capuchin Church is a triptych , in the middle the Immaculata , painted by Otto Epple in 1948, on both sides next to it St. Bonaventure (left) and Francis (right), painted at the end of the 17th century. The two side pictures were created by Christian Wink from Munich in 1778 and 1784 respectively . The north shows St. Lawrence of Brindisi , to whom the baby Jesus appears.

Loreto Chapel (Türkheim)

The Loreto Chapel

Johann Schmuzer from Wessobrunn built the Loreto Chapel in 1683/84 on behalf of Duke Maximilian Philipps . It is a replica of the Santa Casa (Holy House) in Loreto . The interior has been redesigned several times. The chapel was given its current appearance in 1954.
The ducal donor couple kneel above the miraculous image that Duke Maximilian Philipp brought with him from a pilgrimage to Loreto in 1682, and above it the Capuchin Father Marcus d'Aviano, who, at the invitation of the Duke, preached in Türkheim. The altar - it shows events from the life of the Holy Family - was carved by Konrad Ledermann from Bad Wörishofen. The fresco on the outer wall was painted by Otto Epple in 1954.

Assumption of Mary (Türkheim)

The late Gothic Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary from the second half of the 15th century was given a baroque style by Johann Schmuzer from Wessobrunn from 1677 on behalf of Duke Maximilian Philipp . The choir stucco was made by Michael Stiller from Ettringen in 1732. From 1873 there was a redesign in neo-Romanesque forms. The stucco was chipped off and the frescoes whitewashed.

From 1938 to 1947, Dean Oswald Läuterer carried out a new Baroque style. Here, the nave, based on Johann Schmuzer's decoration in the Pfreimd parish church , was stuccoed and stucco altars were erected based on the Pfreimd model. The choir stucco was restored according to the old outlines. The frescoes, painted by Johann Andreas Bergmüller in 1732/33 , have been exposed again.

St. Wendelin (mountain)

In 1709 the Berger farmers wanted to build a chapel. However, the Spanish War of Succession and its aftermath delayed the construction of the chapel. With a cattle epidemic rampant in Ettringen, the Berger farmers vowed to get serious about building chapels. The Augsburg Ordinariat granted permission for this in 1746. The Ettringer Hafner and master builder Adam Stiller built the chapel on behalf of and at the expense of the Berger. She was looked after by a hermit until 1807 . After several renovations in the 19th century, the chapel was furnished in the Byzantine style in 1864 . The last renovations took place in 1939 to 1942 and 1971.

The fresco on the choir ceiling comes from the time it was built . It shows the personifications of faith, hope and love. Ignaz Hillenbrand could have carved the cross and the Mater Dolorosa on the choir wall in the third quarter of the 18th century. St. Wendelin was created by the Turkish sculptor Otto Sieber in 1863. The picture on the nave ceiling shows St. Wendelin, kneeling in front of the crucifix, frescoed by Johann Michael Schmitt from Munich in 1942.
