Cabaret in Munich
Cabaret stages in Munich form a focus of the independent Munich theater scene. The Lach- und Schießgesellschaft founded in 1956 , the venue of Dieter Hildebrandt , has a reputation far beyond Munich . Heppel & Ettlich in Schwabing , which was left in the original style of the 1970s and still breathed the spirit of the sixty-eighties, was also ancestral . The theater was founded in 1976 by the two Neukölln natives Henry Heppel and Wolfgang Ettlich . Some of the greats of today's comedy scene like the Missfits , Helge Schneider and Piet Klocke began their careers here. Munich's Lord Mayor Christian Ude also made his debut here with a solo program; he still plays in front of an audience from time to time with the Kabarest group . After the original theater has been closed, the Heppel & Ettlich will continue to operate in the rooms of the Schwabing Chamber Theater ; the old theater rooms were taken over by Susanne Rohrer and Christiane Brammer , who ran the stage there from the beginning of October 2009 to June 2010 - the Rohrer & Brammer .

Former cabaret theaters
The Elf Scharfrichter was the first political cabaret in Germany and one of the first German cabarets at all. The premiere took place on April 13, 1901 in the rear building of the restaurant "Zum Goldenen Hirschen" at 28 Türkenstrasse. In autumn 1904 the liquidation took place due to financial problems. The Simplicissimus (Old Simpl) in the Türkenstrasse had a first heyday between 1903 and 1912 and a second between 1935 and the beginning of the Second World War. Theo Prosel continued this tradition by opening the Neue Simpl am Platzl in1946, which had to close in 1950. - In1930 Peter Paul Althaus co-founded the literary cabaret The Onion Fish in the Weißes Haus restaurantin Barerstrasse. In 1947 he appeared as a cabaret artist in Schwabinger Brettl and in 1948 in Monopteros (s) . Karl Theodor Langen was director of the catacomb from 1950 to 1961. Werner and Nanette soon took them over in 1965; at that time it existed at Adalbertstrasse 33. In 1975 the catacomb was awarded the Schwabing Art Prize . The Schwabing Gisela opened in 1952 in the Schwabing Occamstraße 8, the local case of Gisela , in which she appeared as a chanson singer; The clubhouse clubhouse has been located there since 2006. In 1953 Therese Angeloff founded the literary-musical-political cabaret The Little Fish in Leopoldstraße.
From 1987 onwards, the Revue Theater Bel Etage was located at Feilitzschstrasse 12 for twenty years before it moved to Obersendling. From 2007 to November 2009, the Kammertheater München , which resulted from the fusion of the ensembles of the Zart & Zorn and Shinewelt theaters , played at Feilitzschstrasse 12, which then moved to Haidhausen and closed in autumn 2011.
The Schwabinger Podium (Wagnerstrasse 1), a 44-year-old stage for live music, had to close at the end of February 2017.
