The Klingelsbachgraben is a creek about five kilometers long in the Lower Franconian district of Main-Spessart , which flows from the right into the Main when coming from the north-west .

course

The Klingelsbachgraben rises in the sandstone Spessart in the natural area 141.2 Oberwittbacher Spessartvorland at an altitude of about 334  m above sea level. NHN at the southeastern foot of the Madenberg ( 378  m ) and east-northeast of the Michelrieth district of Marktheidenfeld . Its source is in the Michelrieth district in the Obere Haid corridor directly west of the A 3 / E 41 and not far from an open-air photovoltaic system opposite the motorway.

The stream, accompanied by the A 3, initially flows southeast through grassland, then crosses under the MSP 31 district road leading from Michelrieth to Triefenstein and enters the Oberwittbach district . It then runs southeast of the high mountain on the northeast edge of a small mixed forest through the Selzerschlag corridor and is fed there on its left by a 700 m long ditch coming from the northeast from an industrial area in the Altfeld district . A good 200 m downstream, on the other side, it takes on an approximately 850 m long brook running along the other edge of the Selzerschlag forest. The Klingelsbachgraben now flows through the Teufelsloch corridor , formerly called Teufelsgruben , and is then strengthened north of the Klingelsbacher Höhe on the same side by a one kilometer long field and meadow ditch. The Klingelsbachgraben then crosses the B 8 at its exit from the A 3, from which the lower-ranking St 2315 also branches off to the south.

Almost 800 m later he leaves the district of Oberwittbach at the Klingelsbach car park of the A 8 and changes over the municipality boundary to the Rettersheim suburb of Triefenstein . The stream, which has so far been strongly straightened, can develop more laterally from there. Almost 400 m later, a small field ditch runs towards him on the right. The Klingelsbachgraben crosses under the A 3 at the northeastern foot of the Bocksberg ( 286  m above sea level ), takes a short hook to the area of the Altfeld district and back, then crosses the MSP 31, which runs above the steep right main valley slope, and then forces its way east-northeast the area around the Triefensteiner district Trennfeld through its narrow and wooded gorge , also called Klingelsbachgraben , which is designated as a natural monument and which extends over a distance of about half a kilometer from a height of about 210  m above sea level. NN falls down to the valley floor of the Main .

At the foot of the valley slope, the stream crosses two paths in a north-easterly direction along the narrow floodplain and finally flows into the Lower Main Valley in the natural area 141.02 Marktheidenfeld-Wertheimer Main Valley in the area of the Triefenstein district of Trennfeld at an altitude of 142  m above sea level. NN in Main kilometers 174.8 about 250 m above the barrage Lengfurt and about 600 m above the monastery Triefenstein in from the right approach flowing from the North Main.
