M. extends. It lies above the alluvial cone that poured into the valley between the villages of Ritzingen and Gluringen.
Political affiliation and naming
The territory of just under one square kilometer was jointly owned by two communities: Reckingen-Gluringen and Grafschaft VS in Obergoms.
The municipality of Reckingen-Gluringen / Grafschaft was managed by the Federal Statistical Office under the municipality number 6391. Until December 31, 2003 it was officially called the Gluringen-Ritzingen Commune and carried the BFS no. 6072.
Since the turn of the millennium, the area had changed its name several times as a result of municipal mergers in which both previous owners were involved:
- In 2001, the former municipality concluded Ritzingen with Biel VS and Selkingen the new municipality County VS together.
- In October 2004 the former municipality of Gluringen and Reckingen VS merged to form the municipality of Reckingen-Gluringen .
For the interim phase (2001–2003), the Gluringen / Grafschaft municipality was therefore also mentioned .
