Konrad von Loeben

Konrad Heinrich Theodor von Loeben ( January 16, 1852 in Pulsberg ; † April 2, 1911 in Ballenstedt ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

He came from the noble family of Loeben . His father was Franz Leopold von Loeben, on Pulsberg (1822–1907), his mother his wife Anna, née Dallmer (1828–1912). Eckhart von Loeben (1868–1947) was his younger brother.

Military career

Loeben came out of the cadet corps on April 7, 1870 and served as porter ensign in the war against France in Mecklenburg Grenadier Regiment 89 . There he was wounded in a battle near Dreux on November 17, 1870 and then assigned to the regiment's replacement battalion. On December 30, 1870 he was appointed second lieutenant and awarded the Iron Cross 2nd class for his service . From March 10, 1877 to March 31, 1881 he was adjutant of the 2nd battalion. In the meantime, he was promoted to Premier Lieutenant on December 11, 1879, and to captain on March 23, 1887 , and was appointed company commander. On September 12, 1895 he became major and on June 16, 1896 commander of the II battalion. Loeben was then from December 18, 1901, Lieutenant Colonel with the staff of the 1st Nassau Infantry Regiment No. 87 , before he was Colonel from January 27, 1905 to April 13, 1907, Commander of the Braunschweig Infantry Regiment No. 92 . On April 4, 1907, he took the character as a major general in his resignation and lived in Brunswick.

family

He had been married to Anna Marie, née von Meibom (1864-1924), with whom he had a son Wilhelm von Loeben (1887-1920), since January 14, 1887.

Konrad von Loeben is buried in the old cemetery in Schwerin.
