Kossiwska Poljana ( Ukrainian Косівська Поляна ; Russian Косовская Поляна Kossowskaja Poljana , Slovak Kosovská Poľana , Hungarian Kaszómező, Kaszópolyána ) is a village in the southeast of the Ukrainian Transcarpathian Oblast with about 4200 inhabitants

Kossiwska Poljana is the only village in the district council of the same name in the south of the Rajon Rakhiv .

The village, located in the historic Maramureş region of Carpathian Ukraine , was first mentioned in writing in the 17th century. According to legend, the first villagers came from Kosovo , which is where the place name came from. At the end of the 18th century iron ore was mined near the village and smelted in Kobylezka Polyana .

The village is located in the Forest Carpathians at 450  m altitude in the valley of the Kossiwska ( Косівська ), a 41 km long tributary of the Tisza . The village of Luh is 8 kilometers downstream . From there, the Rajonzentrum Rakhiv that about 10 km as the crow located northeast of Kossiwska Polyana, on the trunk road N 09 to reach km after about the 35th The Oblastzentrum Uzhhorod is located about 190 km northwest of Kossiwska Polyana.
