content

15-year-old Takao Akizuki lives with his melodramatic mother and older brother Shouta. His biggest dream is to become a shoemaker. On his way to school one morning on a rainy day, he stopped at the local park and sketched shoes. He discovers an attractive woman, Yukari Yukino, who drinks beer and eats chocolate in the drizzle. At first they don't talk to each other, but when the rain stops, Yukari decides to see him off with a waka . Then she leaves him; amazed at its origin. The two continue to meet in the park in the morning and get to know each other better. Yukari is more and more interested in Takao's shoe sketches and so Takao decides to make a pair of shoes for Yukari. He measures her feet and tells her that she must finally learn to stand on her own two feet. The rainy season is nearing its end and they both feel they should get back to their normal lives. In their minds, however, they dearly wish that the rainy season would never end so that they could continue their meetings.
