history

Altmerdingsen was built along the old road between Burgdorf and Uetze. The bakery was built in 1742 and the school building in 1877. On August 19, 1848, a house fire with unknown cause occurred near Donges in Altmerdingsen.

In 1891, a "Posthülfsstelle" was set up on the Vollhof Rohde in Crätze.

The Vollhöfner Schwenke built a brick factory in Altmerdingsen in 1904. The sports club was founded in 1920. In 1927 a bell tower was built as an extension to the school and the bell was consecrated. The previously independent communities of Altmerdingsen and Crätze were merged in 1928 to form the community of Altmerdingsen. The name of the village of Crätze was changed at the same time to "scabies" .

The megalithic grave contained in the coat of arms was discovered in 1930 by a farmer while plowing the field. The cemetery chapel was consecrated in 1964. In 1969 the school was closed. As part of the regional reform in Lower Saxony , Altmerdingsen was added to the municipality of Uetze on March 1, 1974. Before that, the place had belonged to the Hänigsen community .

The approval of the coat of arms was granted on July 16, 1971 by the district president in Lüneburg.

Coat of arms of Altmerdingsen
Blasonierung : "In blue to silver soil a silver Stone Age grave two position stones and a plate in a blue Wolfsangel ; above a jumping, silver stag ( twelve-enders ). "
Justification of the coat of arms: As a sign that the community consists of two districts, a Stone Age grave has been added to the coat of arms, which symbolizes the two districts with its two stones and is also intended to indicate through the common cover plate that despite the spatial separation, a community emerged from these districts. The grave itself establishes the connection to the foundation of this settlement, as, as urn finds prove, early cultivation and settlement must have taken place here. The Wolfsangel indicates that it belongs to the Burgdorf district, which has it in its coat of arms. The leaping deer also wants to establish a connection between the past and the present, as hunting was and has been of great importance both in the primeval times when the village was founded - as it is today.
