Krešimir Švigir (born December 20, 1979 in Zagreb , Yugoslavia ) is a former Croatian ice hockey player who spent his entire career at the KHL Medveščak Zagreb .

Career

Krešimir Švigir began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of the KHL Medveščak Zagreb , for which he made his debut in the Croatian ice hockey league in the 1995/96 season . From 2000 to 2007, the center took part in parallel for Medveščak in the interleague and from 2007 to 2009 in the Slovenian ice hockey league . In the 2009/10 season he played parallel to the operation of the Croatian ice hockey league in the newly founded Slohokej League and in the 2010/11 season in this for the Zagreb team , the joint project of the Zagreb top clubs.

With the KHL Medveščak Zagreb he won the Croatian championship 14 times before ending his active career in 2011.

International

For Croatia , Švigir took part in the junior division in the U18 Junior C European Championships in 1995 and 1996 and the U20 Junior C World Championships in 1997 and 1999 . In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the C World Championships in 1999 , 2000 and, after switching to the current division system, at the World Championships in Division I in 2004 , 2005 , 2007 and 2011 and in Division II in 2001 , 2002 , 2003 , 2006 , 2008 and 2009 . At the 2011 World Cup, he was Croatia's assistant captain for the first time. He also represented his colors at the qualifying tournament for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin .
