The Szikszó District (Hungarian Szikszói járás ) is an inland district within the northeast Hungarian Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County . As the successor to the small area of ​​the same name (Hungarian: Szikszói kistérség ), which was dissolved at the end of 2012, 22 of the 23 municipalities came into the successor circle at the beginning of 2013 as part of the administrative reform, the municipality of Felsődobsza moved to the Gönc district . To compensate for this, two municipalities from the dissolved Encs area came into the new district.
The district has an average community size of 708 inhabitants on an area of ​​12.89 square kilometers. The population density of the third smallest district was lower than the county average. The administrative seat was the only town Szikszó , located in the south of the district.
