The district court of Lübben (Spreewald) is one of 24 district courts in Brandenburg and a court of ordinary jurisdiction .

Seat and District of the Court

The court has its seat in the city of Lübben (Spreewald) in the district of Dahme-Spreewald . The judicial district extends to the area of ​​the communities Alt Zauche-Wußwerk , Bersteland , Byhleguhre-Byhlen , Drahnsdorf , Golßen , Heideblick , Jamlitz , Kasel-Golzig , Krausnick-Groß Wasserburg , Lieberose , Lübben (Spreewald), Lübbenau / Spreewald , Luckau , Märkische Heide , Neu Zauche ,Rietzneuendorf-Staakow , Schlepzig , Schönwald , Schwielochsee , Spreewaldheide , Steinreich , Straupitz (Spreewald) and Unterspreewald . The court is located at Richtstrasse 2-3, Ernst-von-Houwald-Damm 10a. The two-story building designed by the government master builder Otto Hodler is a listed building. It was built on the site of the old district court building and a gatekeeper's house and was inaugurated on April 29, 1930. After renovation work and expansion with a new building, the district court was inaugurated on November 1, 2001 by the Brandenburg Minister of Justice, Kurt Schelter . A permanent exhibition on Lübben's legal history has been located in the corridors of the district court since 2009.
