The Kremenez , Ukrainian Кременець / Kremenez , Polish Krzemieniec or Kremenaros , Czech and Slovak Kremenec , in the First Czech Republic also Kremenaros , Hungarian Kremenaros is a 1,221 meter high mountain with its peak on the Polish - Ukrainian border at the Bukovské vrchy the Waldkarpaten . In the interwar period it was on the Czechoslovakian- Polish border.
Not far from the summit, at an altitude of 1208 m, a granite obelisk marks the triangle ( 49 ° 5 ' N , 22 ° 34' E ) Slovakia – Poland – Ukraine.
The Ukrainian and Slovak parts of the mountain are located in the Stuschyzja - Ushok ( Transcarpathian Oblast ) and Stužica ( Prešovský kraj ) areas, which have been registered as World Heritage by UNESCO since 2007 . The Polish part is part of the Bieszczady National Park in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship .
Polish and Slovak marked hiking trails lead to the surrounding mountains such as the 1304 m high Polish Wielka Rawka, about one kilometer to the northeast . Nearby places are Nová Sedlica (SK), Moczarne , Brzegi Górne , Ustrzyki Górne , Wołosate (PL) and Stuschyzja (UA). The Ukrainian city of the same name Kremenets in the Ternopil Oblast is located 200 km to the northeast.
In summer 2008 there was an international meeting of Russians on the mountain . They raised demands for freedom of movement vis-à-vis Ukraine and the affected Schengen states of the European Union .
