Career

Kristián Kudroč began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of the HC VTJ MEZ Michalovce , for whose professional team he was active from 1997 to 1999 in the first division , the second Slovak division. He was then selected in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft in the first round as a total of 28th player by the New York Islanders , for which he never played. Instead, the defender ran in the 1999/2000 season for the Remparts de Québec in the Canadian junior league QMJHL , in whose all-rookie team he was selected. In the following three years he played mostly in the North American minor leagues and ran for the Detroit Vipers from the International Hockey League and the Springfield Falcons , Philadelphia Phantoms and San Antonio Rampage from the American Hockey League . In addition, he came in this period to a total of 26 appearances for the Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers from the National Hockey League .

The 2004/05 season began Kudroč with the Radio X de Québec from the Ligue Nord-Americaine de Hockey and finished it with Hammarby IF from the Allsvenskan , the second Swedish division. From 2005 to 2007 he played for SaiPa Lappeenranta and Ilves Tampere from the Finnish SM-liiga for one year each . The Slovak then returned to Sweden, where he was on the ice for Södertälje SK in the Elitserien from 2007 to 2009 . The 2009/10 season he began with Elitserien participant Brynäs IF , but left after only ten games to move within the league to Frölunda HC . At the end of January 2010 he was finally committed by Ässät Pori from the SM-liiga, for which he played until 2012.

In April 2012, Kudroč was signed by HK Sibir Novosibirsk from the Continental Hockey League , for which he played until January 2014 and was then given to Barys Astana . After the end of the season he moved within the KHL to HK Awangard Omsk . During a preparatory tournament in Astana , Kudroč was seriously injured and thus missed the entire 2014/15 season. In addition, his contract with Awangard was terminated in October 2014.

In June 2015 he signed a contract with Metallurg Novokuznetsk , but terminated it in August of the same year for personal reasons. In December 2015 he signed a contract with HC Plzeň from the Czech Extraliga.
