Kristina Rakočević gained her first experience in competitions, international level, at the European Youth Olympic Festival 2013 in Utrecht , where she won the silver medal in the shot put and the gold medal in the discus throw. In 2014 she qualified for the U20 World Championships in Eugene and finished eleventh there. At the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing , she just barely missed a medal in fourth. In 2015 she won the silver medal in the discus throw and bronze in the shot put at the U18 World Championships in Cali . She also won the European Games in Baku with 14.85 m in the shot put and was second behind the Moldovan Natalia Stratulat in the discus throw with 53.91 m . A year later she qualified for the European Championships in Amsterdam , where she was eliminated with 54.35 m in qualification. Shortly afterwards she won the gold medal with 56.36 m at the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland . In 2017 Rakočević took part in the U20 European Championships in Grosseto and won the bronze medal there. Previously, she won the Games of the Small States of Europe (GSSE) in Serravalle with 53.79 m in the discus throw and won the bronze medal in the shot put with 14.56 m behind the Cypriot Gavriella Fella and Ásdís Hjálmsdóttir from Iceland.
