Lower Saxony cultural heritage
“Lower Saxony cultural heritage” is an internet portal that serves as the central Lower Saxony state portal for cultural goods . It provides digital copies and descriptions of scientific collection objects as well as outstanding cultural assets from the property of Lower Saxony's libraries , archives , museums and other cultural institutions for scientific purposes as well as for the general public in the form of image, text, sound and video files.
The objects presented cover a time frame that extends from prehistory to the present day . The exhibits are also available nationwide via the German Digital Library and the European cultural portal Europeana .
The portal was set up between 2010 and 2012 as part of a project funded by the State of Lower Saxony and the European Regional Development Fund.
