The cultural cooperative KoOpf Oberpfalz is a network of art associations and museums in the Upper Palatinate , Lower Bavaria and the Czech Republic founded in 1999 .
Organizational form
The Kulturkooperative KoOpf Oberpfalz is not an actual association, but an informal association of associations. It has a permanent manager. From 1999 to 2011 Wolfgang Herzer was Managing Director of KoOpf. Alfred Bruckner from the Freiraum art association in Furth im Wald has held this post since 2013. In addition, the KoOpf annually publishes a program with the program of all participating clubs. Wilhelm Koch from the Amberg Air Museum has been the editor and designer of this issue since 1999 . This booklet is published in German and Czech. It can be found on the KoOpf website.
aims
On its website and in the KoOpf image brochure it publishes, the cultural cooperative KoOpf Oberpfalz provides information about the activities of the associations and museums that are part of it. The KoOpf tries to support the cultural and artistic activities in the Upper Palatinate and Lower Bavaria region. She attaches great importance to cross-border collaboration with similar associations in the Czech Republic .
This network was made possible by the end of the Cold War in 1989 and the accession of the Czech Republic to the EU . As a result of these events, the Upper Palatinate was moved from a forgotten peripheral location to the center of Europe. This not only resulted in an upswing in politics, administration, education, research and economy, but also new stimulating impulses in the field of art and culture.
The goals of the KoOpf are the development of individual and regional self-confidence, intellectual stimulation and promotion of contemporary art and the next generation of artists. Aesthetics, ethics, creativity, flexibility and openness can contribute to cultural education.
