Culture Prize of the East Prussian Landsmannschaft

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The cultural award of the Landsmannschaft Ostpreußen was awarded on March 30, 1957 by the Landsmannschaft Ostpreußen e. V. donated.

Award

It was originally awarded to artists and cultural workers in three categories: literature , visual arts and music . The basic condition for the award is that the work to be recognized comes from an East Prussian artist or that the work relates to East Prussia. The award was originally supposed to take place on the birthday of the former LO spokesman, Ottomar Schreiber , on May 1st. But the first award took place at the end of April at the meeting of the East Prussian state representation in Hamburg.

The prize is now also awarded for the fields of science and journalism . The award of the prize usually takes place every three years at the Landsmannschaft's Germany meeting of the East Prussians .
