On January 16, Rembrandt van Rijn is present at an anatomy lecture given by the physician Nicolaes Tulp , during which he autopsies the body of the executed mugger Adriaan Adriaanszoon . In the course of the year he completed the painting The Anatomy of Dr. Tulip . On the mediation of Constantijn Huygen , Rembrandt received the commission of the governor Friedrich Heinrich in the same year for a “Passion cycle”, which should originally include the five images of the Raising of the Cross , Descent from the Cross , Entombment , Resurrection and Ascension .

The love garden
