Frode Løberg (born January 23, 1963 in Elverum ) is a former Norwegian biathlete .

Frode Løberg worked for Elverum IL . In the second half of the 1980s and the first half of the 1990s, he was one of the Norwegian biathlon elite and the expanded world elite of sport. The first major event was the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary , in which the Norwegian was used in all three races. In the individual he finished 20th, was 14th in the sprint and sixth in the relay with Geir Einang , Gisle Fenne and Eirik Kvalfoss . At the Biathlon World Championships in 1989 in Feistritz an der Drau , he was 28th in the sprint and 43rd in the individual. In 1990 he ran into similar areas . In the individual in Minsk he was 43rd, in Oslo in the sprint 36th and in the team with Einang, Sverre Istad and Fenne sixth. In the relay race in Kontiolahti , Løberg, with Einang, Fenne and Kvalfoss in fourth place, missed a medal against the GDR by less than four seconds. The Norwegian achieved his greatest success in a major event at the 1991 World Cup in Lahti , where he won the silver medal with Istad, Jon Åge Tyldum and Ivar Ulekleiv in the team race behind Italy. 1992 brought the second participation in the Winter Olympics . Løberg finished eighth in the individual and fifth in the relay race with Einang, Fenne and Kvalfoss. At the 1992 World Championships held in Novosibirsk with the non-Olympic team races , he repeated his success from the previous year with Tyldum, Sylfest Glimsdal and Fenne and was runner-up behind the United Team. In the Biathlon World Cup , Løberg regularly reached the points, and in many cases he was also among the top ten. The best result was a third place, which he achieved in a sprint in Ruhpolding in 1990 .

Nationally, Løberg won eleven medals between 1988 and 1994, including four titles. He won his first title in 1989 in Sørskogsbygda in singles and sprints. In 1990 he repeated winning the individual title in Voss . The last title he won in 1994 with the team from the Hedmark region . His Hedmarker teammates, with whom he won other medals in relay and team races, included Kjetil Sæther , Kjetil Storsveen , Tommy Olsen and Øivind Nerhagen .
