Lahomea ( Laho Mea ) is an East Timorese place, Aldeia and Suco in the administrative office of Maliana ( municipality of Bobonaro ).

The place Lahomea lies at an altitude of 546  m and belongs to the settlement center of Maliana . Among other things, there is a secondary school here, the Gimnasio Maliana .

The Suco has 4604 inhabitants (2015), of which 2274 are men and 2330 women. The population density is 369.7 inhabitants / km². There are 777 households in the Suco. Over 90% of the population name Tetum Prasa as their mother tongue. Over 5% speak Kemak and small minorities Bunak , Tetum Terik , Galoli , Habun , Mambai or other languages.

Before the 2015 territorial reform, Lahomea had an area of ​​11.13 km². Now there are 12.45 km². The Suco is east of the center of the Maliana administrative office. In the west Lahomea borders on the Sucos Odomau , Holsa and Tapo / Memo and in the southwest on Saburai . In the north and in the south-east lies the Suco Ritabou , the two parts of the Sucos Raifuns lie north-east and north-west of Lahomea. The rivers Biapelu and Gimetan have their source in the Suco and flow into the Buloho , which forms the northern border of Lahomea. The Buloho is part of the Lóis river system .

On the north-western border is the place Maliana, whose closed settlement extends into the Suco Holsa and Odomau. This is where the bishopric of the Maliana diocese and the Santa Cruz Church are located , which will function as the diocese 's cathedral until the Sacred Heart Cathedral is completed. Suburbs go to Raifun. From here, three country roads lead north, west and east. The eastern highway leading to Carabau crosses the north and center of Lahomea. The towns of Haubai , Lahomea, Lesubotang , Lesuboten and Raedolen are located on it .

The five Aldeias Aculaca , Galusapulu , Guenuha'an , Lahomea and Maliana are located in the Suco .

history

On June 29, 1999, members of the pro-Indonesian militia Dadarus Merah Putih attacked the UNAMET office in Lahomea. Several people were injured.

politics

In the 2004/2005 elections , Martinho Bili Mau was elected Chefe de Suco. Lucio Americo won the elections in 2009 and Cirilio Mau Leto Lopes in 2016 .
