The Land Command Rhineland-Palatinate LKdo RP in Mainz since 2007, one of 15 state commands the armed forces in Germany. Until its dissolution in 2013, it was subordinate to the Military District Command II and is now subordinate to the Territorial Tasks Command of the Bundeswehr . It is the central command authority of the territorial defense organization in Rhineland-Palatinate . The command is the first point of contact for territorial tasks as well as the Bundeswehr's representative towards the state government of Rhineland-Palatinate and the civil authorities. The technical training of the personnel is largely carried out by the Multinational Civil-Military Cooperation Command (MN CIMIC Cmd), which also assigns personnel.

The coat of arms of the Rhineland-Palatinate state command is very similar to the state coat of arms . Only instead of the Trier diocese cross (→ Georgskreuz , Kurtrier ) is a picture of the Porta Nigra from Trier.

Description of coat of arms: The three-part coat of arms of the Rhineland-Palatinate state command shows the Porta Nigra in the upper right, as the command emerged from the Defense District Command (VBK) 42 in Trier, which was dissolved in 2007 ; to the left, the Mainz wheel as a symbol for today's Mainz location; below on a blue background the golden Palatinate lion with a red crown and tongue and red claws.
