In the 2015 state parliament and municipal council elections , 55,826 people were eligible to vote in the Landstrasse constituency, with the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ) emerging as the strongest party with 40.49%. The SPÖ achieved two of the five possible basic mandates in the election , and the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) also received one basic mandate.
