The Langenberg is a little over 435 m above sea level. NHN high foothills of the Hahneberg in Reinhardswald in the district of Kassel , northern Hesse ( Germany ).
Geographical location
The Langenberg rises as the northwest foothills of the Hahneberg in the north of the Rheinhardswald in the Reinhardswald estate . Its highest point is 2.5 km east of Gottsbüren , an eastern part of the Trendelburg on the Diemel , 2.3 km south-southwest of Gieselwerder and 3.4 km (as the crow flies ) west of Gottstreu , two districts of the Wesertal community . There is a small clearing near the highest point of the mountain foothills .
Natural allocation
The Langenberg belongs in the natural spatial main unit group Weser-Leine-Bergland (No. 37) and in the main unit Solling, Bramwald and Reinhardswald (370) to the sub-unit Reinhardswald (370.4). Its landscape falls to the northeast into the Weser breakthrough valley (370.3).
Mountain height
According to the contour lines visible on topographic maps, the Langenberg is a little over 435 m high. Its height is often only given as 424 m , which, however, refers to a height indication at 423.6 m , which is located a little south below the clearing near its highest point.
Diemel-Weser watershed
The Diemel-Weser watershed , part of the Diemel-Eder / Fulda / Weser watershed , runs over the wooded Langenberg : the water of all the streams that flow from the mountain in western directions reaches indirectly through the Fuldebach, the Holzape and the Diemel Away the Weser ; In contrast, the short rivers that flow in an easterly direction (e.g. Trumbach) run straight to the Weser after just a few kilometers.
