The Hahneberg is 460.8 m above sea level. NHN the third highest mountain in the Reinhardswald in the district of Kassel , North Hesse ( Germany ).
Geographical location
The Hahneberg rises in the north of the Rheinhardswald in the Reinhardswald estate . Its summit is 3.8 km east of Gottsbüren , an eastern part of the Trendelburg on the Diemel , 2.5 km south of Gieselwerder and 2 km (as the crow flies ) west of Gottstreu , two districts of the municipality of Oberweser on the Weser .
The north-west foothills of the mountain is the Langenberg . On the north-east flank known as Gladerberg there is a transmitter mast at a height of about 340 m . Parts of the fauna-flora-habitat area of the Weser slopes with streams extend to the east flank (FFH no. 4423-350; 43.6415 km² ).
Natural allocation
The Hahneberg belongs in the natural spatial main unit group Weser-Leine-Bergland (No. 37) and in the main unit Solling, Bramwald and Reinhardswald (370) to the sub-unit Reinhardswald (370.4). Its landscape falls to the north and east into the Weser breakthrough valley (370.3).
Diemel-Weser watershed
The Diemel-Weser watershed , part of the Diemel-Eder / Fulda / Weser watershed , runs over the summit of the wooded Hahneberg : The water of all streams that flow from the mountain in western directions, reaches through the Fuldebach, which rises south of it the Holzape and the Diemel the Weser by indirect route; In contrast, the short rivers that flow in eastern directions (e.g. Trumbach) run directly into the Weser after just a few kilometers.
