history

Finds from the area lead back to the Neolithic Age and prove Langenhettenbach to be an early settlement. Mention should also be made of a Bavarian row graveyard. The former Hedinpach was first mentioned in a document in 778 in a deed of donation from the St. Emmeram monastery in Regensburg . At that time the noble Adalunc from the clan of the Hahielinger (Hailling) lived at Lindhart ( Oberlindhart ), who bequeathed his property to his son Heribert, a priest. Heribert in turn bequeathed it to the Sankt Emmeram monastery in Regensburg after his death in 778. The name Hedinpach (Langenhettenbach) appears in the document written by Heribert's nephew Taugolf .

In another document from 1421, Langenhettenbach is defined as Hofmark . In 1554 this was sold by Hans Gschwind to Bernhard Bschorn. Thereafter, the Hofmark Langenhettenbach was inherited and sold until the nobility was disempowered in 1848. The then owner Ludwig von Gumppenberg received 65,000 guilders as compensation. With the so-called “peasant liberation” of 1848, the compulsory labor and taxes on interest and natural goods to the sovereigns ceased, and the peasants have since become free landowners.

Former municipality of Langenhettenbach

The head of the administrative body of the municipality was formed from 1818 onwards by the "municipality chief". From the year 1869 this office was called “mayor” who was supported by his “community plenipotentiary” in the implementation of the tasks assigned to him. Langenhettenbach was an independent municipality in the Mallersdorf district, which was dissolved in 1972 . At the 1961 census, the community had 262 inhabitants and consisted of the parish village of Langenhettenbach, the hamlets of Einkreut and Frauenwies and the desert areas of Haselwies and Kühholzen . The parish of Dürrenhettenbach and the hamlet of Stocka were incorporated from the municipality of Penk , which was dissolved in 1966 . The municipality had its highest population of 363 in 1946.

On October 27, 1971, the Lower Bavarian state government ordered the incorporation of the municipality of Langenhettenbach with its neighboring municipality of Prinkofen into the market town of Ergoldsbach. When it was incorporated on January 1, 1972, the community was 5.82 km² and had 349 inhabitants. The district of Langenhettenbach has around 300 inhabitants today.
