Kläham is a district of the Ergoldsbach market in the Lower Bavarian district of Landshut . Until 1978 it formed an independent municipality.

Location and transport links

Kläham is about three kilometers southwest of the center of Ergoldsbach on the road towards Hohenthann . The place is divided in two by the Goldbach, a tributary of the Kleine Laber .

The traffic connection via the B 15 towards Landshut and the B 15 towards Regensburg is very good. The new B 15 was completed in December 2013 up to the Ergoldsbach junction, which is only around one kilometer from Kläham. From 2019 the trunk road up to the A 92 near Landshut should be accessible.

In addition, since 1859 the Munich – Regensburg railway has passed the town. The Kläham stop, which opened in 1893, was closed in 1987. The next railway stop is now in Ergoldsbach.

history

Cliheim is first mentioned in a document in the 11th century. Already in 1263 it can be demonstrated the ducal Ministerialengeschlecht the Klähamer. The ducal ministerial family of the Klähamer can be traced back to 1263. The Hofmark Kläham was not yet registered in the Bavarian land table in 1494. After 1500 the Schweibrer appeared as Hofmark owners. The successor of the Schweibrers, who are attested to on Kläham until 1578, was Wilhelm Krimmel, whose heirs can still be proven on Kläham until 1642. As early as 1806, the lordly court of Kläham was in the possession of the patrimonial jurisdiction. The Patrimonial Court II. Class Kläham existed until the abolition of the patrimonial courts in 1848.

As Hofmark, Kläham was under independent administration for centuries. At the time Ergoldsbach was formed in 1818, a mayor (or mayor) was mentioned in documents for the first time, who from that point on administered the community together with the lord of the court in charge at the time. When the lord of the Hofmark gave up his duties in 1848, the mayor took over the duties assigned to him together with his council. During this period, the districts of Pfellnkofen, Buch and Zacherlmühle also belonged to Kläham.

The municipality of Kläham was part of the Rottenburg an der Laaber district . A reorganization of community membership by the American government on December 28, 1948 in the post-war period decided that from now on the community of Oberergoldsbach (with its districts) and Unkofen also belong to the community of Kläham (and therefore subordinate).

This reassignment met with popular opposition and led to public protests. In 1949 the communities of Kläham and Oberergoldsbach were re-established, but the villages of Wölflkofen, Siegensdorf, Pfellnkofen, Ober- and Unterdörnbach, which previously belonged to the community of Oberergoldsbach, remained in the community of Kläham.

On July 1, 1973, a citizens' vote initiated by the local council was held, with the question of whether Kläham should be incorporated into Ergoldsbach or whether it should continue to exist as an independent administrative community. 52% of the citizens entitled to vote voted for incorporation into Ergoldsbach. Even if the election result was close, Kläham has since been part of the Ergoldsbach market due to a democratic majority decision.

Since the incorporation, among other things, the expansion of the fire station, the construction of the new sports field and the sewage treatment plant, the sewer system, the completion of the construction area and in 1995 the cemetery expansion.
