Lasek is a village with a Schulzenamt in the Nowy Targ municipality in the Nowotarski powiat of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland .

geography

The place is located in so-called Podhale on the Lepietnica brook west of the city of Nowy Targ.

history

The place was founded around the middle of the 16th century as a new settlement by Jan Pieniążek. At first it was a hamlet of Klikuszowa , only mentioned as independent in 1618. The name in Polish means small forest .

When Poland was first partitioned in 1772, the village became part of the new Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire (from 1804).

In 1918, after the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Lasek came to Poland. This was only interrupted by the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II .

The hamlet of Trute was separated as an independent sołectwo (Schulzenamt) in the 1970s .

From 1975 to 1998 Lasek was part of the Nowy Sącz Voivodeship .
