The Legislative Assembly of Amazonas , officially Portuguese Assembleia Legislativa do Estado do Amazonas (ALEAM), is the supreme legislative body of the Brazilian state of Amazonas .
Until 2006 the seat was in the parliament building Palácio Rio Branco , today in the building Edifício Deputado José de Jesus Lins de Albuquerque . The unicameral parliament consists of 24 representatives elected by proportional representation, the deputados estaduais , who are elected for four years, most recently in the parliamentary elections as part of the elections in Brazil in 2018 . Parliament's work is supported by 24 standing commissions.
Since February 1, 2019, Josué Neto has been President of the PSD Parliament, who already held this office in 2013 and 2016.
